The course is for freshmen who are planning to study in International education system or abroad. As a foundation course, it aims at helping students to manage their own success as university students. In this course you are expected to understand the importance of developing study skills and strategies in the process of your international course learning. You will have access to effective tips in university study, identify your own problem, develop and evaluate the solutions, such as, to identify your learning style and develop effective self-management skills for learning; to grasp and choose strategies and techniques for addressing academic tasks such as reading, note-making, critical thinking etc.; to explain the procedure of writing assignment, develop your own method of writing assignment, and improve academic writing skills; to consider the advantages of working with others, and develop strategies for collaborative study such as peer support, offering constructive feedback etc. By the end of the course, you will be able to communicate effectively and think critically in classroom activity and teamwork to complete the assigned task in English and be able to manage their own success as university students.
